On Monday 2nd July 2018 the children went to Maycroft Manor to see the residents that they have made friends with, Also visiting the residents was a lovely dog called Oscar which is a therapy dog. The children enjoyed stroking Oscar with the residents. As it was a nice warm day the children were on the terrace having drinks and biscuits with the residents, When they were finished the children used The Gruffalo gardening set and was digging in a trough. Today the children visited their friends at Maycroft Manor. When they arrived at Maycroft Manor they went up to the third floor and had a run around their lovely roof terrace garden. Some of the children enjoyed using the Gruffalo Garden kit and did some planting in the soil. And some other children enjoyed playing with the football beach ball and skittles. The children also got a visit from Bonnie a staff member's dog which the children enjoyed giving her a stroke. During the visit the children are taking part in the Teletubbies Big Toddle and are raising money for Barnado's .The children held the residents hands and walked round the terrace numerous times. On Tuesday the children went out in the community and visited Hove Booth Museum . The children enjoyed taking the 27 bus . Once at the Hove Booth Museum the children enjoyed looking at all the animals . We sung 5 little ducks when the children spotted some ducks and we then sung Ba Ba Black Sheep . The children enjoyed opening the draws to see the different selection of butterflies that Hove Booth Museum has and also using their turn style wheel to investigate what they had when looking through a microscope. All this week the children have been dressing up as the Beef eaters that guard the Royal Family, We discussed where we see the Royal guards. We would like to congratulate HRH Prince Harry and HRH Princess Meghan. They are now Duke and Duchess of Sussex! On Thursday 10th May the children painted the i360 by the beach. They used sponges, rollers and paintbrushes to do their own version. On Friday 11th May the children went to the i360 to hand the painting over to the lovely BA staff. the children travelled by bus and enjoyed the walk to the i360. They spotted lots of vans , police cars and ambulance. They enjoyed looking at West Pier, Brighton Pier and looking for the windmill that is situated in Westdene. Here is the slideshow of all the fun we had on the i360. Shaving Foam FunThe children have enjoyed playing with the shaving foam. They played with the blue and green shaving foam. When asked who uses shaving foam. A child said “ my daddy uses it on his face and uses a special shaver” The children enjoyed clapping their hands and watching the foam go everywhere! The children enjoyed playing with the under the sea animals in the tuff tray. Last week the children made fresh orange juice from squeezing the juice out from the oranges while using a juice maker, The children then had their orange juice at snack time
For the last two weeks the children have been growing water cress from the seeds. Once the watercress was grown the children made watercress sandwiches Today the children helped to post a letter by walking down to the local post office and handing it to the person behind a til. The children then discussed who comes to collect the post and where does it go.
