We would like to say thank you to you for being a great teacher to our daughter - Ismael
My First Friends Nursery is our second nursery and I can say it was the best choice. In just a few weeks it helped my daughter with confidence. Elaine and Demita are lovely ladies who work really hard with the children. She loved going there to play and learn new things. Highly recommend this place. - Agata
We are very saddened as a family to be saying goodbye to My First Friends Nursery. Over the past year Elaine and Demita have worked tirelessly to ensure that the children are provided with rich learning opportunities in a beautiful learning environment. Because they are small and so supportive the nursery feels like an extension of home.
My son loves going there and has formed some strong friendships in this time. I was concerned before he started about his social skills and am overjoyed by the progress he has made. He is a very confident and knowledgable boy that enjoys learning.
As a busy mum of two I recognise that this is due to the excellent care and support he has received from My First Friends. I was very impressed that they even found a way to include a topic that stemmed from his love of hoovers!
One of the things I love the most about the Nursery is the range of opportunities they provide the children. They always seem to have either an interesting visitor or be out in the community doing exciting activities such as tree climbing or visiting the residents of the local care home.
My son has also been very spoilt with trips into town to visit the i360, build a bear and the police station which he will talk about on a daily basis. We feel very lucky to have found such a gem of a Nursery and are looking forward to sending our youngest son there when he is old enough.

Thank you so much for inviting me to visit your lovely nursery.
It was a real pleasure to meet you all, especially the children who were clearly enjoying their day and the activities available for them. I was impressed by the amount and variety of resources you have on offer in a relatively small space. You are clearly providing a warm homely environment and this reflects in the calm behaviour I witnessed in both staff and children. Thank you for my lovely handprint card which the children helped make and also the adorable picture drawn of me with golden hair!
Wishing you all the best for the future.
Mayor of Brighton and Hove Cllr Dee Simson
My First Friends Nursery has enriched both our little ones. The care that goes in to the day to day running of this nursery is certainly heartfelt. All the staff are dedicated to the wellbeing of the children in their care. Both our children attended the nursery and continue to talk fondly of their time with all the staff. There were many visits within the community they took part in and a number of regular visitors to run various activities were definitely a big hit with them both. We would thoroughly recommend My First Friends to anyone looking for a nursery, they provide excellent care and attention to everyone who attends

As you know, I chose to focus my year in office on children, young people and women, and so it is no surprise that some of my most memorable relationships have been built with them. ‘My First Friends’ nursery in Withdean, is an excellent example of how I’ve managed to effectively build relationships with organisations, charities and businesses. I was first invited to the nursery in October with my two-year-old, by ward councillor Sarah Neild, ahead of remembrance Sunday.
It is such an amazing, small nursery, serving some of the most disadvantaged people in our community. We are so lucky to have such a caring team of people working there. When I visited, the kids and staff had made remembrance-inspired artwork that I still have and have put on my wall in the Parlour.
As a thank-you, I invited them to the smaller remembrance service at the Old Steine on the Friday prior to remembrance Sunday, and the children took centre stage and helped me lay a wreath. Councillors who were present will no doubt remember it well. Since then, the nursery has supported many of my own events as well as events I’ve been involved in, with children, across the city. Thank you, My First Friends.
