Today the children tested out a new brush for Henry Allergen. They used the hard floor brush in the main room and was able to pick up glitter/sand and mud that was on the wooden floor. Because the cable is long, when the children moved around the room the cable got caught. so Demita moved Henry out the way to finish the job. The hard floor brush even worked on our foam mats. Now it is time to test our the Henry Pro Kit Air Brush Pro. Read below on what the children thought of the Air Brush Pro A child helped hoovering the mat in the reception room and then the carpet in the sensory/quiet room. The Air Brush Pro is easy to fit on the Henry Allergen but we would suggest turning the hoover off if you have children that don't like the loud noise. Once the nozzle was on it cleaned our mat in about 2 minutes. Henry Allergen can pick up small dirt that you cant see when using the Air Brush Pro. We would definitely recommend buying the Henry Pro Kit that has the brush set as we find that the Hard Floor brush and Air Brush Pro is better suited at the nursery than the original nozzle that came with the hoover as that is too powerful and can lift the carpet and mats. A link will be below where you can buy the Henry Pro Kit If you want to get your hands on the NEW Henry Allergen a link will be below where you will have to register to be put on the list that way once Henry Allergen is available you will be the first ones to get your hands on Henry ! Today the children at My First Friends Nursery have been painting four pumpkins that will match the Henry and Friends plant pots (old hoovers that were donated from Numatic). The children used the coloured paint to match the hoovers. The children were able to identify "green , red, pink" and "blue". The children then repeated the names of the hoovers "Henry, Hetty , Harry" The children then repeated "Henry Alle-gen" (Allergen the new hoover that we are testing) Once the children painted the pumpkins, one child painted their faces with black paint. When the pumpkins are dry they will go in our plant pots. If you would like some second hand Henry and Friends Hoovers and are in a education setting, MyHenry on Facebook are doing monthly giveaways. About two to three months ago, the children at My First Friends Nursery won a competition from the My Henry team on facebook. The children won a Henry Pro Kit, we haven't used it til today due to not having a Henry hoover since September. 2018. Today the children got to feel the three brushes and work out which one we would need to use today. The children chose to use the Hard Floor brush on Henry Allergen. The children were then asked if Henry Allergen would do a good job sucking up coloured sand, glitter and sequins. Half of the children stuck their thumbs up and said he can do it and the other half said Henry couldn't do it. Here are the photos of the children using the Henry Allergen and the Hard Floor brush from the Henry Pro Kit. The children were impressed that Henry was able to suck the sand and glitter up in a matter of seconds.
Here are the photos of the children using Henry Allergen on mud and sawdust. Overall the Henry Pro Kit is excellent and worth buying. You can buy the Henry Pro Kit at My Henry for £59.99, I have attached a link below that will direct you to the my henry shop. The tools included will fit any Henry / Hetty model, but are intended for dry use only.
Today the children helped to put mud in James and Charles hoover. The children chose different sized and coloured scoops that was from Hobbycraft. The children took it in turns to scoop the mud and they then chose what hoover to put the mud in. The children then went to the bathroom to wash their hands. Once their hands were clean Elaine told the children that something magical happened at nursery! What could it be ? James and Charles grew a pumpkin! The children then tried to lift the pumpkin and swap them round with the hoovers. We discussed with the children what colour the pumpkins are, if the pumpkins were heavy or light and if the pumpkins were big or small The children then realised there was a mess! but who could clean the mess up? Demita went to get Henry allergen who will save the day! The children took it in turns to hoover up the mud. We realised that Henry was struggling with hovering the mud so Demita took the suction nozzle off and used the pole instead. Henry was then able to suck all the mud up without any problems. Henry allergen has a 10 metre cable length and is able to clean all four nursery rooms when he is plugged into the kitchen. He takes 20 minutes to clean all four rooms. Normally with the old hoover that the nursery got rid of it used to take the staff 1-1. 1/2 hours to clean all four rooms! We also noticed a massive difference with the floors the staff used to mop the floor everyday due to it being dirty but Henry must be able to pick up the dirt that the other hoover couldn't do. We are still very impressed with the Henry Allergen! HAPPY HALLOWEEN HENRY
During registration time the children met another hoover called Hetty. The children were asked what hoover will do better when sucking the flour up from the carpet. All the children predicted and pointed to Hetty (Staff members hoover) Demita sprinkled the flour on the floor and the children took it in turns to vaccum the flour up. Henry Allergen was first and he did it very quick and didn't leave any flour behind. Hetty on the other hand took a while and left some flour behind on the carpet. One child said " oh no" and pointed to the flour on the floor. Demita asked the children where did the flour go and a child said "in there" while pointing to Hetty. After the children tested both hoovers, they did registration and welcomed Hetty to nursery, The children sung the welcome song and passed the light up star to Hetty and Henry., So far Henry Allergen is proving a great hoover to have at the nursery. Today the children helped to carry the Numatic box out from the cupboard. The children got really excited and they all wanted to get in the box. The children predicted how many of them will fit in the box. The children were able to count in sequence alongside Demita. In the box all five children managed to fit in the box.. We had one child at the nursery play peek a boo in the box. He sat down and then stood up and said “boo” When Demita got Henry Allergen out we talked about not pressing the button and what might happen. We then talked about where the cable goes and a child said “in there” and pointed to Henry Allergen’s. We then tested how well Henry moves around the nursery. A child slowly pushed Henry around the nursery. He was able to move Henry onto the artificial grass. Any surfaces you have ie wooden floor / mats / carpets, Henry is able to move around easily on them without getting stuck. Next the children tested out the brush that came with the hoover. All children took it in turns to describe the texture of the brush. They said “soft” when they brushed it on their skin. We will figure out next week what that brush is used for! After feeling the brush, the children then took it in turns to test out the hoover on the artificial grass. We have used different Hoovers and a brush br the best thing about Henry Allergen is, he picks up every bit of dirt in the grass! The children then tried to hoover the pillow but something happened! The pillow got sucked up and they said “oh no” in the future of using Henry Allergen we will move all the pillows. One child really enjoyed using the hoover so much so he got excited when the hoover was on! When building Henry Allergen all this week the children enjoy using the bendable pipework and speaking to Henry through the tube! It is Henry Allergen's first day at Nursery ! So far he has had a busy day at nursery. The children at nursery welcomed Henry by singing the welcome song. When registration was over the children read the Henry Hoover books to Henry Allergen. The children enjoy working as a team to build Henry Allergen. When Henry was ready the children took it in turns to hoover round the nursery., Some children hoovered the carpet, artificial grass, wooden floors and ABC foam mats. We have found that the cable for Henry can get a bit stuck in the machine so we pull the cable out but it corrects itself when you spin it back in. The children also found out that if you take the nozzle of Henry will be a bit more louder. Some children liked the louder noise and some didn't. At carpet time the children rated Henry allergen. Half of the children chose 5 Stars and the other half chose 4 stars,. Overall Henry Allergen is doing very well at nursery and the children love helping out to clean the nursery. During this week and next week the other nursery children will be rating Henry Allergen Henry Allergen has had a lovely time with the children here are the photos of all the fun Henry had! On Tuesday 18th September, the nursery had a special delivery from DHL. When the children saw the box they got excited, they were able to identify the colour "blue". One child said "wow present" when Demita cut the tape the children got excited and was picking the equipment out of the box. One child guessed a "oover". When the children opened the box a child said " a book" and was looking through the pages and spotted the Henry Hoover face. The children then went round the nursery to identify the many Henry and friends hoovers, the children said "same" when pointing at the Henry cleaning station (toy) and then the Henry Plant pot. The children worked as a team to help fix the Henry Allergen. Once the hoover was ready the children then plugged Henry into the plug socket and took turns in hoovering the wooden floors/mats and carpets. The children then tested the on/off button on the hoover and there was no problem with the switch as it is easy to press. When pressing the on/off button one child got excited and clapped his hands. So far we have noticed a massive difference with our carpet by the green door as it is covered in sand/glitter and mud. The children did need help with the mats and carpet as the Henry Allergen is very powerful and lifted the mat/carpet up. We had a child visit the nursery and he was excited to see the blue Numatic box, he knew exactly what part fits where with the hoover and said " don't forget the hoover bag" During this week all children will take part in unboxing Henry Allergen and testing it out. Also on Thursday the children will vote on how many hoover stars they would give Henry Allergen. At My First Friends Nursery we have a special delivery coming on Tuesday.
