Mud Kitchen We have a mud kitchen where the children can interact together and use mu or water. The children can mix the soil and water and other natural materials. The mud kitchen includes the domestic home corner and cooking from the indoor play . Playing with the mud kitchen creates an opportunity to develop social skill and help the children to understand the world around them whilst having fun. |
Outside play is to encourage and inspire the children of any age through positive experiences . The children at My First Friends Nursery have a large and safe outdoor space . Where they can access different ways of movement when using the large apparatus , or running around or rolling about on the field . The children also have access to the local woods that surrounds the nursery .
Benefits of Outside Play When playing outside the children have a chance to connect with the natural world that is around them. The children have first hand experiences of growth and decay, they have opportunities for creativity and use of their imagination. Being outside also improves the children's fitness and physical development. |

We look at the ways outdoor play can enhance the children's Expressive Arts and Design . The children use two woods , one that surrounds the nursery and the other one is called Westdene woods . Westdene woods has diverse resources that the children use to stimulate their imagination . For example, collecting big branches and twigs to make a den . The nursery focuses on using what the children find when exploring the woods. The children use their senses for hear,ing , touching , smelling and seeing when they forage for natural resources . |
