My First Friends Nursery 50th Birthday Party
On the 19th March 2019, My First Friends Nursery turned 50 years old. My First Friends Nursery was originally named Westdene Playgroup and was set up by the Westdene Women's Institute . The staff at My First Friends Nursery invited the staff that first started the playgroup which is now a nursery.

During the party celebrations the children at the nursery had a visit from Alice in Wonderland who helped celebrate the 50th Birthday party. The children showed Alice around the nursery and helped to make a new type of tea, which was sand tea! Below are some photos of the children with Alice in our playground. |
Alice helped the children to wash their hands and showed the children where to sit for the Mad Hatters Tea Party. During the tea party the children listened to Alice's Story which was called Walt Disney Alice in Wonderland. She talked to the children about what happens in her story and who she met. Children enjoyed eating lots of fruit and then some sweet treats during the tea party.
While the children were eating , Alice was busy helping to make the gift bags and signed a piece of paper that had a photo of her on. |

After the tea party, the children had a play in the playground while they wait for East Sussex Fire and Rescue to come for a visit. Once the Fire crew turned up the children handed artwork to the fire fighters and a box of treats. The children got use the hose from the fire engine and helped to water the trees. The children also got to sit in the fire engine and try on their uniform.
When it was time for the fire fighters to go the children went onto the field to to wave goodbye to East Sussex Fire and Rescue. We hope to see them next year. |
We would like to say a massive thank you to Alice , East Sussex Fire and Rescue, Helen Beaumont, Angie Casey , Ann Norman , Ken Norman , Claire Ward , Melanie Gibson , Eve Smith, Carol Tildesley and Jenny Brown for coming along to the party to celebrate our 50th birthday .
