Thank you so far to the parents donating money for the children's wishlist during pyjama week.
Today the children made rice cake faces, they liked spreading the cheese on their rice cake, adding the carrot's for the hair, raisins for the eyes and a pepper for the mouth. We hope you enjoyed eating them at home!.
At 1 pm the afternoon children went on a walk to the Peace Garden in Patcham, while on the walk they saw a blackberry bush and decided to pick them, they put the blackberries in the bowl. On theOld London Road the children saw a bus broken down and police officers guiding the cars, they said *hello* and *thank you* to the police officers when crossing the road.
When we got back to nursery the children helped to make blackberry jam, they put it int he microwave and watched it go round, then they got a turn to stir the blackberry around after that we discussed how much sugar we will need to make it sweet.
The children enjoyed making the jam and are looking forward to trying it tomorrow at breakfast!
The children played with pasta, they discussed what the pasta feels like dry and with butter. A child said squidgy when the child mashed the pasta and butter. The children were playing outside and some were inside the nursery when a cat came to visit. We discussed what the cat might like to eat, what the colour of the cat was and if it was a boy or a girl cat.
Today the children have been making pasta necklaces, they found it hard to thread through but once an adult shown them how to do it, the children then understood on how to make it. The children also made rice krispie cakes, they liked pouring the cereal into their bowl and the melted chocolate. They then stirred the chocolate and rice krispie and then put it into a cake holder. The children also enjoyed making crowns and decorating biscuits.
On Monday 10th August the staff bought a fish light for the children in our quiet room. The children enjoy looking at the lights change colour and watching the fish float up and down. Some of the children watched the colour of the lights change and said *blue* *red* *green*. Sometimes the children will go in the book corner with a book and have some quiet time while looking at the fish light.
On Friday 7th August the staff set up, tills, fruit bags , clipboards and penicls. During the day the children enjoyed collecting other equipment from the home kitchen and bringing it to the tills to scan through. When they finished scanning it through on the tills they put it in the carrier bags. Some children liked drawing a bill to give to their friend at nursery.
On Thursday 6th August the children brought in their teddy bears from home, due to the bad weather the children had the picnic inside the nursery. It didn't stop the children having fun with their bears. When asked if they prefered eating outside the lunch room, some of the children said *on the mat* and some said the *lunchroom*. After the children finished their lunch, they sang the teddy bears picnic song.
