Merry Christmas East Sussex Fire and RescueAll last week the children made Christmas craft and baked them some cakes and cookies. The children then put all the stuff in a box and handed it to the fire fighters. They were lucky enough to use the hose and sit in the fire engine. To the fire fighters personally, thank you for visiting us in the year. We hope you enjoy all the presents and one special gift for you all. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year! Today the children enjoyed a visit to see the sheep at green ridge. They sang ba ba black sheep while walking along the sheep. The children were told to stand still numerous times to let the sheep walk past so they didn't startle them and they run off further up the field. The children then spotted some bulls in the field opposite and watched them walk away.
All last week the children helped to make and decorate some Halloween cakes. They went into town to collect three Halloween buckets and filled them up with sweets.
The children have loved seeing the police when they come and visit the nursery or even waving to the "nee naws" when they pass us when we are out in the community. We hope Brighton Police enjoyed the cakes and we hope they have a great Halloween catching all the ghosts, ghauls and witches! We would like to say a massive thank you to Tesco in Droveway Hove, for giving the children a box full of carrots from Fare Share Food Cloud. Today the children made Carrot Cake Cup Cakes. The children described the textures of the ingredients when mixing "its wet and cold" One child said "eggs from chickens" when pointing to the eggs. The children enjoyed measuring the ingredients out on the "scales" and then pouring it into the bowl. They learn't some new words "bi - carb - onate soda, Cin-na-mon" phonically. We then used icing which the children then spread on the cakes and added the cake decoration. On the walk to Maycroft Manor the children collected conkers and today they did conker printing. They used red, brown and orange paint A child went into town on the 27 bus to make a nursery bear. He chose the name goofy and has take the dog home and will bring it back with some artwork. All children will be able to take the dog home and do a drawing and hear about the activities they did with goofy.
And that is a wrap for the class of 2017 at My First Friends Nursery.
These children have been with us for one to three years. They have all been an absolute delight to teach and look after. Every year it gets harder to say goodbye to the children. They have made us laugh, cry and act silly around. They have made us value the world around differently. I'm sure the residents at Maycroft Manor will miss them. We have loved hearing all the stories of what you and your family get up too. September will be very strange for us as we won't have our little bunnies. But we are looking forward to creating memories with our new bunnies. For now it's time for you all to fly the nest and to flourish. |
